You can easily reach the lake via well-developed cycle paths along the Kalksee or via the Löcknitz route. Along the shore, you'll find quiet swimming spots, picnic areas, and viewpoints such as the Schwarzer Stubben and Springeberg, which divide the lake into a northern ("Enger Flaken") and a southern ("Weiter Flaken") half.

Just when you're flying, the train will remind you that you're in Erkner.

A nice place to take a break with a bench in the sun and one in the shade. People fish here, and you can also swim, although the bottom is a bit muddy, and things can hide in the mud. I ended up with a cut on my foot after swimming here.
