The so-called brewery (location) is a building from the late 14th century with a simple, well-structured blind gable. As with the monastery church, red brick was used as the building material. It is the only at least partially preserved commercial building of the monastery. Its exact original purpose is unknown. In 1858, the building was used as a granary. Later it served as a residential building. In 1945, the gable on the southeast side collapsed when the neighboring bridge over the lock ditch leading to the Himmelpfort lock was blown up in the last days of the war. In 2010, the brewery was destroyed by a fire caused by arson, down to the surrounding walls. In 2016, the restoration of the roof began, initially with the securing of the gable, which is of art-historical importance. Source: Wikipedia

The Ravensbrück Concentration Camp (also known as the Ravensbrück Women's Concentration Camp) was the largest concentration camp for women in the so-called German Altreich at the time of National Socialism. It was built in 1938/1939 by the Schutzstaffel (SS) in the municipality of Ravensbrück (now the city of Fürstenberg/Havel) in the north of the province of Brandenburg.

"The story of Santa Claus in Himmelpfort dates back to 1984. At that time, two children from Berlin and Saxony wrote to Santa Claus in Himmelpfort. A postal worker didn't want to return the letters marked "Recipient Unknown." So she answered the letters herself. The two children apparently told their friends about the reply. Because by the following season, 75 letters had already arrived for Santa Claus. From 1990 onwards, more and more Christmas letters began arriving in Himmelpfort, with up to 2,000 letters a day during Advent.
