We were at the marina and had a rest there. Unfortunately, if we had known about this place, we would have stopped here. It's beautifully situated by the water. A great place.

It's very difficult for paddlers to portage here. There's no trolley. We portaged the boat and placed it in the overflow channel below the weir. However, it was very difficult to reach and arduous.

Unfortunately, this rest area has not existed for several years

Small kiosk with everything you need as a long-distance cyclist or canoeist. No debit card payments accepted...! If necessary, you can pay via PayPal "Friends and Family" 👍

Paddlers are allowed to pass the motorboats and park at the lock entrance. The lock operator will then signal when they are permitted to enter.

A nice place for a break

Gasthaus zum Löwen at the Strasen lock. Top-notch food, good beer, and accessible from the water.
