The small town of Stromberg is also known as the gateway to the Nahe, Rhine, and Hunsrück rivers, as well as the town of the German Michel. Stromberg offers plenty of variety: a golf course, the Stromberg Flowtrail, hiking and biking trails, and castles await visitors and locals alike.

Highest elevation in the Rhein-Hunsrück district (653 m above sea level) with a summit cross and no distant view but a lot of forest and somehow especially early in the morning.☀️🌲🌳 There is a table with benches for resting and plenty of peace.

Very nice tour, but the grass was damn high on the many meadow paths in the first half of the route (at Pentecost). On the trail itself you should know that from the starting point there is only one route that includes all levels of difficulty. During the ride you can then choose the level of difficulty. Otherwise great.

The Stromburg was probably built in the 11th century and was first mentioned in 1056 when Count Bertolf named himself after the Stromburg. In 1116 it was destroyed and rebuilt by Archbishop Adalbert I of Mainz. These early mentions presumably refer to the "old Stromburg" on the Pfarrköpfchen (see Pfarrköpfchen Castle). The first reliable mention of the Stromburg comes from 1287. The village of Stromberg in the Guldenbach valley, which was first mentioned in 1344, developed under its protection.
