The Taschensee is located near Scharbeutz in Schleswig-Holstein, north of the Kleiner Pönitzer See and the federal highway 432, in the immediate hinterland of the Bay of Lübeck. It is located in Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape. Wikipedia

The Danish ditch is an artificially created ditch with an impressive depth. It was intended to connect the Kleiner Pönitzer See with the Taschensee. The reason for this was the operation of several water mills for which the outflow of the local streams was not sufficient. So additional water had to be brought in. At the northern exit of Gronenberg there is an information board with further details about the builder and the ditch.

From the local hiking trail, there are only a few views of the Taschensee, but they are very beautiful. Not only can you swim a few laps at the bathing jetty, but there is also a nice bench here. From there, you can let your gaze wander into the distance and enjoy the lake atmosphere.

Very nice and quiet lake, worth seeing.
