Anyone who parks their car in the parking lot directly by the lake in Salem is in the middle of a vacation paradise. The idyllic blue boathouse right in front of them is as much a part of Lake Salem as the blue of the water and the green of the wooded shores. From here, the path to the right leads to the playground and swimming area, as well as to the village community center with its lovely restaurant. And don't forget the canoe launch site. After all, Lake Salem is a beautiful canoeing area, stretching to Lake Piper on one side and crossing the Schaalsee Canal to Ratzeburg on the other.
