This tower is a radar station (secondary radar) for air traffic control and is operated by Skyguide. It processes exclusively echoes actively emitted by flying objects. Unlike the primary radar, which also uses echoes emitted immediately beforehand.

There is no restaurant nearby, but the barbecue area is really spacious and also offers covered seating.

The path above the vineyard is very beautiful and makes up for the rather steep climb. With good visibility, you can see not only the Limmat Valley but also the Alps.

There's nothing to see here. What's special about the Gubrist is that you don't normally hike over it, but rather drive through the motorway tunnel that runs almost directly beneath the summit, one of the busiest routes in Switzerland.

The way there is a gravel road, which is fine. On the way back, we turned further left onto a nice path, not the designated route.
