The parking lot was relatively full, as there's so much to do at this hotspot. A swimming lake, a barbecue hut with restrooms, and a shower house. The mountain bike trail, and so on... Parking is permitted on the shoulder of the main road in both directions, which was very convenient for us with our Sprinter van.

Østre Søbad at Almindsø near Silkeborg is one of Denmark's cleanest lakes. Here are two round, impressive bathing jetties right next to each other with a children's pool and facilities such as changing rooms, lovely benches, toilets and a sauna.

Nordskoven stretches across a wide headland in the south of Silkeborg. The landscape is characterized by hills covered with beech, spruce and Douglas fir trees. The forest provides a habitat for numerous birds, such as various species of woodpecker.

A beautiful forest path takes you along the shore of Borre Sø. The trees open up again and again and offer you a wonderful view over the lake in the Lake District.

A beautiful hiking trail takes you along the banks of the Gudenå, Denmark's longest river at 158 kilometers. The Gudenå meanders through the Lake District and is particularly popular with anglers and rowers.

The newly renovated Østre Søbad is beautifully located by Almindsø in Silkeborg. In addition to the lake bath, you will find, among other things, a mobile sales van with light snacks, a sauna, changing facilities and a popular sandy beach.
