You'll find numerous ghost towns and historic sites. There are a number of campgrounds and picnic areas as well. In fact, there is so much to see and do that the World Wildlife Fund named it one of the "10 Coolest Places You've Never Been in North America".

There are more than 13 miles of trail to enjoy in this state park, but that's not all: You can also camp, boat, fish and canoe here, and it's a popular place for stargazing. But the most interesting thing you might see here is a historical reenactment of 19th-century Florida cow hunters. Yes, you read that correctly.

There are no services at this trail head aside from a parking lot. However, this is the point where you can deviate from the Van Fleet State Trail to enter into the Green Swamp Wildlife Management Area and switch to take the popular dirt trails and double track that winds through beautiful pine forest.
