Experiences from November 2025: Access to the river from both sides is blocked and clearly marked with prohibition signs! At the marked location, there is a narrow bridge without railings. There is no sign of the waterfall or the attractive wooden bridge with railings shown in the photos by "expert" Oliver! The circular routes indicated under this trail are therefore completely unusable if you adhere to the prohibitions and barriers! We had to turn back and, unfortunately, retrace our steps. Very frustrating!

No problem at all with the north way, really nice landscape; 1h30 in running

Anyone who speaks of Trevélez cannot help but talk about Serrano ham. The sign at the entrance to the town leaves no doubt that "Jamón" plays an important role here. Drying warehouses belonging to ham producers can be found everywhere. The three different quarters of the village of Trevelez are separated by an altitude difference of around 200 m. But even if strolling through the narrow, steep streets of the mountain village is a little arduous, it is still worth the effort.

Capileira is a wonderful destination to visit! This charming village is located in the Alpujarra Granadina, in the foothills of Sierra Nevada, and offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The toilets weren't open during winter.

The walk took us longer than the indicated time. Beautiful views and an abandoned village. Clockwise, the first part is more descending and climbing. Beautiful!

The descent via the northern slope is only recommended to a limited extent. Due to a landslide/rockslide, the path has completely disappeared in places and you have to find your way through the terrain without a path for about 1km.

This is a series of loops that leave a village, cross the river at another village and return to the start village. The length depends on you. We changed our minds and everything worked fine.
