This is one of three mine shafts in the Mure basin. The shaft at La Motte d'Aveillans was closed in 1956. Today, it is a museum that traces the history of coal mining in La Mûre.

The little road that goes down from Cholonge is great and on arrival you have a superb view of Lake Lafrey

From Séchilienne, the climb is quite demanding, constantly between 10 and 15%. A small road with little traffic.

The road is very lightly trafficked, winding and in perfect condition. A real treat ! The view of the southern Vercors is superb

Little known but very tough, the Col du Luitel offers a sustained ascent on its S side, with an average slope of ~10% over almost its 10km. S slope, therefore warm, but shaded. Narrow road, medium tarmac, little traffic. 9.9km, D+ 920m

The turquoise and emerald hues of this lake make it an unmissable place for swimming or enjoying the facilities around the lake. Here you will find water sports, restaurants and wildlife.

Brutal climb thats for sure. You start in Saint-Barthelemy with some very high % kind of a warning to "stay" in the city. Surely hard to get out to the forrest and 10 km of 930 HM in the end. You will however be in the forrest most of the time, so you will be shaded from the sun. Not the best surface, but at that speed uphill it wont matter so much. Going down I would recommend taking it very easy.
