Zeddam pumping station Zeddam pumping station is a facility for pumping groundwater or surface water. It is located on the cycle path through the forest between Zeddam and Stokkum - the Oude Eltenseweg Zeddam no. 2. This building is now called the drinking water supply "Van Heek" of water company Vitens, named after Jan Herman van Heek. The building was completely renovated in 2015 and housed in an ecological building of 1880 m². On the occasion of the opening, there was an open day for the public with guided tours of the building and the adjacent water extraction site. Before 2015, a much smaller building had been standing here for a long time, visible on topographic maps from 1966 and later referred to as "Pumpstation". The current building consists of a large pump and filter building with sand/gravel filters with which the iron is removed from the drinking water. The building also contains a large buffer tank for drinking water with a capacity of 2,200 m³. Several new drinking water wells have been constructed on the adjacent outdoor area. Further drinking water wells are located in the Galgenberg. Bird watchers often note birds in this area with forest and heath.
