Built in 1826, the church building has an interesting history. You will find large balconies on two sides of the nave. The Cultuurkerkje arose from the need to preserve a historically important building after the secularisation and merger of the Noord Zijper churches. Since 1982, the Stichting Behoud Kerk Oudesluis has been organizing cultural activities to give the building a new lease of life for the community.
