The small history walking tour signs are well worth following around Braemar if you have time. This castle was once home to Macduff - Thane of Fife who was responsible for killing Macbeth

The pecan sticky toffee pudding was fantastic - the best I've tried.... EVER!

Really beautiful and traditional hotel. You can go in and have a look around the historic rooms, which are also used for normal hotel operations and events. There is also a hotel shop. Even the toilet follows this style - so visit it if you want to feel really regal on the "throne" 🫅😉

Breamar is a small authentic Scottish town, where you can completely relax. No tourist crowds. Breamar is also an ideal base for walks or cycling trips in the Cairngorm NP

The summit of Cairn Bannoch is a relatively broad and open summit, without much of a prominance. It is however a part of a fantastic ridgeline leading to Broad Cairn. The summit provides an excellent view of the nearby cliffs above Creag an Dubh Loch.

Right in the middle of Braemar, this castle ruin looks over the river. Most of the ruin is low, but easily accessible (free to access too). There is an information board about the history of the castle too.

The bridge is located in the center of Braemar and spans over Clunie Water. There are several sculptures and information boards as a war memorial which commemorates the dead of both World War I and II.

This munro sits at 1047m tall with expansive views of the Mounth Plateau and Lochnager. Keep your eyes peeled for the remains of the airplane wreckage RAF Canberra which crashed on the 22nd November 1956.

Brilliant fun descent, flowing trails!

Absolutely beautiful summit to sit at, there is some shelter offerings from the wind and it makes a great spot for lunch with panoramic views all around.

I ascended in the dark, but the descent would have been great too.
