WOW!! Well, I did not expect to see Red Deer!! There were loads of them just roaming in the park! Its early September, so their antlers are looking particularly beautiful; ready for rutting season

Once the most beautiful village in England

I don't know what this "highlight" is for... The entire village is absolutely stunning! But, a tip - please park in the actual car park at the top of the hill! I see so many people just driving about fighting for a car parking space. It's silly. There's a designated car park. And - please do take a walk outside of the village, Castle Combe (gorgeous as it is) is very small and can become extremely crowded. There are plenty of equally beautiful woodland & hiking paths to explore. They'll take you on a loop out of the village & back in.

Absolutely stunning forested pathway! Accessible both in winter (even after snow! I hiked here through a good few inches of snow once). And, it's good for warmer weather, providing plenty of shade. I would, personally, avoid the height of summer, it's SO busy & people fight for parking (plus... the heat am-i-rite). But, spring, Autumn is just gorgeous. It is really pretty here, and it is 100% worth walking away from Castle Combe village, a lot of people don't, and they miss these stunning surroundings (yes, the village itself is absolutely gorgeous, too!)

This stone bridge over the Brook river is a lovely addition to a scenic Cotswold walk from Castle Combe.
