2月 21, 2025, Walkers Hill
Adam’s Grave on Walker's Hill in Alton, the most dramatically located Neolithic long barrow in Wiltshire and the site of battles in 592 and 715. The area surrounding Walker's Hill is pitted and speckled with barrows and ditches of many sizes and shapes.

8月 13, 2023, Pewsey White Horse
The Pewsey White Horse was cut in 1937 but replaced an older horse cut in 1785. The best view is while you run from Pewsey to the horse along the awesome straight trail between fields.

3月 22, 2023, Walkers Hill
Milk Hill 294m, Pewsey Down, Wiltshire (County High Top). A longish but easy walk over undulating hills to get Milk Hill, the county top for Wiltshire. Thought I would do Tan Hill as well to bag a trig point. Turns out there was no summit marker on Milk Hill or a Trig Point on Tan Hill. Still, a lovely walk and well worth doing. Took Walkers Hill as well which is a great historic tomb. Route Statistics: Easy undulating trails with minimal ascent really. 9.2km done in 2hrs with 250m of height gain.

The view from the top is worth the long uphill trek. You can spot the various villages of the area from above and see some of the grand old houses that once owned the land

10月 26, 2021, Giant's Grave Hillfort
Giant's Grave is a hillfort with an enviable view. It sits on a natural promontory, stretching south west towards the village of Oare, into the Vale of Pewsey. On the summit you'll find a trig point at 820 feet (250 m) and wonderful views to the south, west and north. The White Horse Trail long-distance footpath ascends the summit on it's giant loop linking the south's chalk horse carvings.

10月 26, 2021, View from Huish Down Hill
Huish Down Hill lies just above the village of Oare in the edge of the Vale of Pewsey and has fantastic views to the south. It's part of the North Wessex Downs AONB and you can certainly enjoy the vast spectacle of the downs from here, with Salisbury Plain rising just across the valley.

10月 26, 2021, Pewsey White Horse
The Pewsey White Horse is both fairly young and quite small – the smallest in Wiltshire. It was cut into the chalk hillside in 1937 although it replaced a much older horse, possibly originating in the 18th century. The horse lies at one end of the Vale of Pewsey, and looks across the valley toward the Alton Barnes White Horse, which lies on Milk Hill to the north west.

10月 19, 2021, Walkers Hill
Walkers Hill is a fantastic place from which to admire the Vale of Pewsey and surrounding downland. On a clear day, the vistas are exceptional, but the hill itself has plenty of interesting historical features. Adam's Grave is the most notable – a Neolithic long barrow. There are cross dykes (prehistoric earthworks), tumuli and ditches littered about the hillside too, typical of Wiltshire's ancient land. Just to the northwest lies the Alton Barnes white horse, cut in 1812.

10月 19, 2021, Knap Hill Car Park
Knap Hill car park is a particularly useful spot from which to explore this section of the North Wessex Downs AONB and the Vale of Pewsey. Footpaths and bridleways head off in every direction from the car park and it's easy to create hiking routes as long or short as you like. The Alton Barnes white horse is just to the west, although it's best seen from a little further afield.
