This is a stunning 5-star beach. It's got great rural surroundings, awesome waves, amazing sand dunes and a rustic village nearby.

The white sand and clear waters of Carbis Bay are sheltered from the big Atlantic seas so it makes for a tranquil beach, popular with swimmers. It is often less busy than other beaches around St Ives. It also hosted the G7 summit back in 2021. If you're planning on running here, consider travelling by train as the cliffside railway tracks offer a unique and beautiful journey.

A short jog from St Ives station will bring you to Porthminster Beach. The sea is a gorgeous blue and the sand shines with a golden hue. As the palm trees sway in the wind you'll be forgiven for forgetting you're even in the UK.

Porth Kidney Sands is usually significantly quieter than nearby St Ives and Carbis Bay. The beach is huge at low tide and is dog friendly too.

Lelant train station is the starting point for the Lelant to St Michael's Mount point-to-point route via St Michael's Way. The best way to travel back from St Michael's Mount to Lelant after reaching your destination on foot is to catch a bus from Marazion to Penzance and then a train from Penzane to Lelant. Alternatively, you can park a car at either end of the route and simply drive back to your starting point.

As you make your way along the coast between Longrock and Marazion you'll be afforded some exquisite views of the sensational St Michael's Mount. St Michael's Mount is an island off the coast of Marazion featuring a medieval church, castle, and pristine gardens. The island is reachable by a tidal path and is only accessible during low tide for a few hours a day. Knill's Monument is a commemoration to former mayor John Knill of the late 18th century. The monument was built by the well-known architect John Wood, who was the designer of the Royal Crescent in Bath. The location of the monument provides some magnificent views across the picturesque Cornish coastline toward St Ives and Carbis Bay.

Walk along a section of St Michael's Way, a 12.5 mile footpath that spans coast-to-coast from Lelant to St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. You'll be traversing through beautiful woodlands and open fields, and, if you look east, you'll be able to spot the Beersheba Standing Stone rising out of the landscape.
