Great view of the island with its castle. Accessible on foot at low tide. Otherwise there are small ferry boats.

The white sand and clear waters of Carbis Bay are sheltered from the big Atlantic seas so it makes for a tranquil beach, popular with swimmers. It is often less busy than other beaches around St Ives. It also hosted the G7 summit back in 2021. If you're planning on running here, consider travelling by train as the cliffside railway tracks offer a unique and beautiful journey.

A short jog from St Ives station will bring you to Porthminster Beach. The sea is a gorgeous blue and the sand shines with a golden hue. As the palm trees sway in the wind you'll be forgiven for forgetting you're even in the UK.

Porth Kidney Sands is usually significantly quieter than nearby St Ives and Carbis Bay. The beach is huge at low tide and is dog friendly too.
