Better to climb from the west

Small mountain town in the Pre-Pyrenees, well known, connected by a local road from La Pobla de Lillet or from Borredà.

An interesting fact about Sant Jaume de Frontanyà is that it has a population of only 30 inhabitants. Until recently the smallest town in Catalonia. Currently this town does not have a bar or restaurant, but it does have a fountain.

It is the highest town hall in Catalonia. The climb from Borredà is comfortable and is only hard in the final part. Wide road in perfect condition, with hardly any traffic. There are hardly any trees that protect from the sun. The climb from La Pobla de Lillet has more ramps and is harder. It is a climb completely opposite to the previous one: hard ramps alternate with continuous breaks and it is completely covered by trees, making it a particularly cool place on the hottest days of summer.

Place with easy access although there is a climb to get there, nothing that cannot be climbed in a calm way. Good views.

The village of Alpens is located on a plateau in the sub-region of Lluçanès, between gentle hills and forests of oaks, oaks and pines. The urban center has narrow streets, beautiful stone houses and a picturesque Romanesque church.

Sant Pere de Serrallonga or Sant Pere de Vilallonga is the church of an old rural parish mentioned with the name of Vilallonga today belonging to the municipality of Alpens. It is part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. Description Building of a single nave with an almost square rectangular head, to the east. Inside, the nave is separated from the apse by a triumphal arch with a crossed profile with simple imposts and a slight advance of uprights. The walls of the naves have two large former arcades that were possibly built shortly after the rest of the nave as a result of the deficiency of the vault of the nave. The current roof dates back to 1837, with eaves and Arabic tiles. The apse is lower than the nave and is covered with a barrel vault. The door is located in the southern wall and is formed by an arch. Attached to the north corner there is a rectangular sacristy built in 1837.[1] It contains an attached altar made of painted wood that dates from the second remodeling of the church, carried out in 1627 (as documented in the plasterwork that is preserved before entering the square apse of the church, in the one that reads: ESTA YGLESIA SE R DVI EN LO YEAR 1627 Y SE).[1] A couple of graves have been located outside the church, which remain unexcavated.[1] https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sant_Pere_de_Serrallonga
