Plaza del Pópulo, also known as Plaza de los Leones, is one of Baeza's most iconic and picturesque spots. This square is part of the Renaissance monumental complex that earned the city a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.

This square, known as Plaza del Pópulo, houses the Tourist Office, the fountain and the Jaén Gate, attached to part of the old city wall.

This park is dedicated to an illustrious man from Baeza who was mayor of the city for several years, and a councilor of the Junta de Andalucía for as many years. He was a beloved Baeza native because he made many favorable investments in the city that contributed to its social and cultural development.

From here begins a path with several points or stops, simulating the walks that the illustrious poet Antonio Machado used to take daily through this land where he was teaching between 1912 and 1919.

From the old wall, several viewpoints have been created from which you can see several important points of the province: if we look to our left, we will see the valley of the Guadalquivir river in an ascending direction with the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura and las Villas in the background. If we look in front we have the Sierra de Mágina and the Guadalquivir river below, and if we look to our right we will see in the distance the capital of Jaén, the Castle of Santa Catalina and the Sierra de Jaén.

Behind the Baeza Cathedral, there is this small square dedicated to a Dean who stood out in his religious work, next to what is known as the Puerta de la Luna, which is rarely opened to the public.
