It is famous for being the place that, according to tradition, houses the tomb of the Apostle Santiago, making it one of the main pilgrimage destinations in Europe through the Camino de Santiago. The building is a mix of architectural styles including Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. The Obradoiro façade is particularly impressive and is one of the most recognizable symbols of the cathedral.
