Despite the gently sloping, gravelly beach, it's worth taking a short break to enjoy the view and head down to the water. Nearby, "Der Fischer" (The Fisherman) invites you to stop for a rest.

Mandatory bike path along the road. Cyclists must yield at junctions. The access ramps to the bike path have gentle curbs. Asphalt is perfect for this; it rolls smoothly.

Imposing barrage on the Lech River. At barrage 22, the water is diverted from the Lech River to the Lochbach, where three additional, smaller weirs are located. On the northern edge of Augsburg, the wide, parallel Lech Canal branches off towards Meitingen and only flows back into the riverbed after more than 20 kilometers. Along this Lech Canal are three power plants built between 1898 and 1922 (Gersthofen, Langweid, and Meitingen canal power plants).
