The Imperial Palace in Annecy, opened in 1913, is a historic hotel that was held back during the First World War and only flourished after the Armistice. The building was renovated in the 1980s and reopened in 1990 as a complex comprising a hotel, conference center, and casino, in a classic yet modern style.

It's a must-see in the Annecy basin! Mont Baron peaks at 1,299 meters above sea level, just a little higher than its neighbor Mont Veyrier. From there, you have a superb view of the lake, Annecy, the Semnoz, and the Entrevernes mountain in particular.

At an altitude of 1,050 meters, the Col des Contrebandiers is a vast meadow that marks the intersection of several hiking trails. From here, it is possible to reach Mont Baron, Mont Baret, and Veyrier-du-Lac, among others. There is also a parking lot.

Please note that since 2024, a decree prohibits access to the parking lot and prevents parking along the road. They pass by and issue fines otherwise.
