The Varan refuge is located at an altitude of 1,620 m. It offers accommodation for 30 people during the summer season as well as traditional Savoyard meals. It allows direct access to several paragliding take-off areas and multiple hiking trails

This is the largest of the quarry ponds in the valley, which were dredged for the construction of the motorway.

There is a cafe in the centre of the village next to the sculpture and the Hinault board is just around the first corner

The Cote de Domancy was the key feature in the 1980 World Championships still considered to be one of the toughest courses in the UCI World's history. A race of over 200kms and nearly 6000M of climbing, the riders climbed the Cote 20 times. Fast-forward to today and the Cote is a regular feature in the Tour de France and the Criterium du Dauphine both as a climb and a descent. Chris Froome slid off his bike descending in the 2016 Tour de France whilst wearing the yellow jersey. At the bottom of the Cote the is a sculpture of a cyclists and on the first ramp of the climb there is a board proclaiming Hinault's win. There is also another statue to Hinault in nearby Sallanches
