This bridge was the only one to allow the crossing of the Arve until the construction of the Pont Neuf in 1850. The first Pont Vieux was built at the time of the Romans and then rebuilt in the Middle Ages. The current bridge was built in 1674 and restored in 1833. An inscription engraved in the stone mentions the name of the architect

Spectacular views from this area. Parking along the road if you're looking to start your ride from here. We actually camped over night in our van with no issues, locals are welcoming.
