There isn't much to see in the town of Saint-Clément itself. But the surrounding area is great!

Charming port, started out rough & ready but was refurbished at the end of the 18th century. Closely linked to the salt trade, between the two world wars it became a marina and berth for Cazavant class boats

All the villages on the Île de Ré have Wells which, with the advent of tap water, were neglected or even abandoned. At Les Portes-en-Ré, 24 communal wells have been identified and subject of a major restoration programme.

Les Portes-en-Ré centre village square, now partly taken over by the recently reopened restaurant "La Bazenne" which has outdoor seating in most of it. Tastefully done with roof blinds that can be closed during bad weather but look unobtrusive during sunshine

Conche des Baleines translates as "Small Bay of Whales" many of which beached here in the past, giving the name to the area.
