Located on the banks of the Adour river, the village of Saubusse and its picturesque streets will be a first choice stopover. A few shops and restaurants, a 13th century church, a small river port with a shaded picnic area, an old towpath laid out for lovely walks.

Saint John the Baptist (Saint Jean Baptist), to whom this church is dedicated, is – like Saint Joseph – a man on the threshold of the Old and New Testaments. His parents are Zechariah and Elizabeth. After the proclamation of God's incarnation, the Mother of God visits her relative Elizabeth, who will give birth to a son in old age, John the Baptist. This is half a year older than Jesus and is considered his forerunner / pioneer.
