In the Herrenkrug and Biederitzer Busch areas, numerous distinctive old oak trees can be found. A paradise for all kinds of wildlife.

Great for watching waterfowl. Hardly a visit is complete without seeing kingfishers, herons and some species of ducks and geese.

From here it is not far to the forest education station in the Biederitzer Busch. And there are a lot of educational information boards along the way.

Well known as a bathing spot. But also a very nice starting point for tours when it's foggy.

Admittedly, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of trees in Herrenkrug Park, each one an individual. In a storm in June 2017, this tree was badly damaged and lost a mighty branch that extended far over the path. This branch is still lying at the foot of the oak tree and anyone who visits here often can literally see how nature is reclaiming the branch; how the bark is peeling off over the years; how beetles and other animals have made their way through the wood of the tree. A place where you can definitely linger and look up at the sky with your back on the thick branch.

Cyclists beware. There are some deep holes in the way in front of and behind the bridge.
