There's a ferry across the Weser in Herstelle. The ferry runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is operated by a very friendly ferryman.

The crossing with the Weser ferry with a view of the castle is a small highlight and it is worth planning the crossing into a hike. The ferry runs from April to October 3rd (daily 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. / €1.50)
