I really enjoyed this ride. I’m 46, I did it on a 40 year old road bike, it’s more suited to a cyclocross bike!

Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, this church, listed as a historic monument in 1912, is a spectacular work of art. Well worth the drive past when crossing town!

A small town in the Charente Maritime region. There are a number of historical monuments, such as the castle, the castle and several churches.

In the evening at 18:30 is a light-optical phenomenon, when the sun shines through the archway. Do not miss!

The church has a special feature a letter issued by John XXIII. This honors Pons and his veneration of Mary. Only a few churches in France, but several of them in the Saintonge, are dedicated to St. Bibianus (also Vivianus or Vivien) consecrated, a supposed bishop of Saintes from the Visigothic-Franconian period (5th century), about the otherwise almost nothing is known. A (fictitious) representation of the bishop can be found on the northern side of the 19th century stained glass windows in the gothic west window.

Amazing what is worth seeing. A light wind makes the stay pleasant even in the sun. Nearby is a base of the French Air Force.
