With an area of 2,700 hectares, the forest area is mainly managed by the National Forestry Office (2,000 hectares of state forest). It also includes private and other municipal parts. It houses a leisure center and an outdoor center managed by the Syndicat mixte pour l'aménagement de la forêt de Bouconne.
