The site features the remains of fortifications dating from the 11th to the 19th centuries. The former castle of the Lords of Loyes (ruins of the Château de la Pie), the modern castle, the formal garden, and the kitchen garden are all visible. In the 18th century, major work was carried out on the Château de Loyes, but a fire destroyed the tops of the towers and the roof. In 1840, renovations were undertaken, including the construction of outbuildings, a woodshed/cellar, and stables. At the end of the 19th century, a church was built, dividing the castle mound in two. The castle entrance was modified at the end of the 19th century, along with the neo-Gothic wall. The garden, originally laid out in the early 18th century, was modernized by Luizet and Barret at the end of the 19th century; a landscaped garden was added to the formal garden. The castle mound is accessible via a footpath. Magical... With open restaurant on the edge of the pond

Small gravel part on a single track in the undergrowth. Lots of fun little turns!

Slightly technical gravel part with a lot of stones. The light is superb in summer. Can be a little difficult in the winter in gravel.

The remains of the Château de Loyes. The castle is currently closed, but you can still appreciate the impressive exterior.

The artificial lake of Chazey-sur-Ain with its turquoise waters will offer you an ideal break on hot summer days. Please note that swimming is not supervised and you will have to live with the fishermen who are often present.

Many shady paths, paths through fields in the plain. Lots of crops including wheat that ripple with the wind. Very pleasant and easy walk.

I went there at the end of December in gravel, it's not easy. It slips a little, the slope at 10% in the leaves and the mud, okay. There are lots of stones, it would surely be better on a mountain bike. (And it's obviously a hunting reserve with signs indicating that you can take a bullet - luckily there was no hunter on 31/12)
