Pleuven is a commune in Brittany. Nestled in picturesque countryside, it features rolling landscapes and historic sites.

Cheffontaines and the francization of the Breton name Penfeunteunio. This family took off in the 18th century, when the barony was elevated to a marquisate and admitted to the honors of the Versailles court: it was at this time that Marquis Jonathas Hyacinthe de Cheffontaines had the castle built. But the Revolution broke out a year after the completion of the work: the marquis emigrated and his property was seized and sold as national property in 1796. They fell back into the family fold in 1872. An expression remained in local speech to designate the high cries: “howl like the dogs of Cheffontaines”. It refers to the barking of the pack of hunting dogs locked in an enclosure in the park.
