Beautiful route and spectacular views

Beautiful river walk with small waterfalls.

Neoclassical square in the heart of Bilbao's Old Town (Casco Viejo). • The square was laid out in 1821 and completed in 1851. • It is surrounded by arcades and columns, beneath which are numerous pintxos bars and restaurants. • Plaza Nueva is a popular meeting place and considered the heart of the old town. • A flea market takes place in the square on Sundays.

The path branches off from the main trail and is unfortunately now completely overgrown.

A peak very close to Hernio. It's highly recommended to visit it after reaching the summit of Hernio, as the descent from this point to the Iturrihotz hamlet is much more manageable.

Point before reaching the summit of Ernio. The pilgrimage takes place on Sundays in September. At this point, the hermit who sells cowbells and ribbons stands.

If you climb from Araotz, follow the PR, and the climb is very easy and short. From the cave parking lot, it's much steeper and zigzags. About 2.5 or 3 km with a lot of elevation gain.

The first (or last section if reversing the route) section is absolutely NOT accessible. Possibly only at extreme low tide. We were there an hour before extreme low tide, and it was completely impossible. I would choose to simply follow the route at a higher elevation and skip the "beach" section. Especially since the beach is made up of large stones and rocks, difficult to walk on because you always have to watch your step due to loose stones.
