Totally idyllic forest lake

The Pfaffenstegteich is idyllically located in the Weinsberger Forest. It is worth stopping here to enjoy the panorama.

Idyllic bathing spots around the lake, some with a jetty...

Far away in the forest you will find this nice pond. Several meadows invite you to take a relaxing break, where you can enjoy the tranquility of the forest.

The Schlesingerteich has a size of approx. 5.5 ha and used to be used for the floating of wood. The nearby lumberjack museum in the village (approx. 1 km away) documents the development of the lumberjack village of Bärnkopf. At the Schlesingerteich there is a sunbathing lawn (no entry), toilet, changing rooms, beach volleyball court, fitness course and kiosk (open when the pool is open) [waldviertel.at]

Attention: The board of the life path and the Yspertal-Weitental circular hiking trail no. 22 does not point down to the pond but goes over it, but according to the map the path goes past the pond below. In general, the signage in the Dorfstetten area is somewhat inadequate and is not always self-explanatory :-(
