Small, manageable area with free parking. From here, several hikes are possible, or you can just take a short walk to the Babisnau poplar tree.

On a clear day, you can see all the way to the vineyards from here. Absolutely stunning ☺️

A viewpoint with a place to rest. While you linger, you can look north towards Dresden and its Elbe slopes.

The hill, approximately 200 meters high, was formed around 95 million years ago when the Cretaceous sea deposited Pläner (calcareous sandstone) and sandstone. In 1939, during the construction of a parade ground, several urn graves dating from 1300 BC onwards were discovered. The Trutzsch has only been accessible to the public again since the end of its military use in 1995. From the viewing platform, one is rewarded with a view through the trees and bushes over Nickern and Prohlis, all the way to the opposite bank of the Elbe River.

A wonderful trip and the hikes are varied, be it to Kreischa, Rabenau or Börnchen. Always accompanied by a fantastic view of Dresden, Saxon Bohemian Switzerland and the Eastern Ore Mountains, there are many options from there. Unfortunately there is very little parking, just 10 cars, which I find a shame. But no matter what, it's worth a trip there or a hike from Kreischa: Possendorf, Börnchen or Sobrigau. Unfortunately there is no bus service. Either you come from Dresden to Possendorf or take the other option to Kreischa and from there walk. Have fun exploring. Maybe we'll meet. Until then.
