For centuries, the water of the Orbe powered the paddle wheels that turned the many forges of Vallorbe. There are 6 in operation today. The museum bears witness to this rich iron industry in the region. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of the craftsman who fashioned nails, horseshoes, knives and multiple tools, you can do so at the museum, where a dozen blacksmiths take turns every day to introduce visitors.

A great view and good path to cross the river especially if you arrive from le Day train station and want to go towards Suchet or Ste-Croix
