It is a bridge over the Ernée which connects the village of Chailland to the forest of Mayenne. The deck is a good place to watch the sunset or have a picnic.

The Château de la Forge is a 19th century residence which was built on the site of the former Aubert manor. The castle dominates the deep, steep valley of the Ernée, on the edge of the Mayenne forest. You will be able to admire the architecture and history of this place which was the property of Cardinal Mazarin in 1657.

This church is a neo-Gothic building built in 1892 on the site of a Romanesque church. It has stained glass windows by master glassmaker Alleaume and a remarkable 18th century organ. The church is located in the picturesque village of Chailland, surrounded by hills and forests. There you can admire the Ernée river and the Rocher de la Vierge, which houses a statue of the Virgin Mary. You can also explore the surrounding trails which offer varying levels of difficulty and length. The Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Church in Chailland is a hike that will please both your eyes and your ears.

This castle was built in the 10th century. Half a century later, the castle became a garrison castle. 400 years later, it served as a prison in the 18th century. In the middle of town, the castle gardens are worth wandering through for a quiet moment.

Built on the site of a former Carolingian residence of the 10th century, the castle, which dominates the old town, is the emblematic monument of Mayenne. Most of the visible elements date from the 13th century, in particular the dwelling and the circular keep. It houses the city museum, which exhibits objects from daily life in the Middle Ages. Medieval board games, including chess pieces and a backgammon board, are among the best-preserved pieces in the world.
