Beautiful path

アブレン＝サン＝ナゼール旧教会の遺跡は、第一次世界大戦の印象的で象徴的な遺物です。16世紀にジャック・ル・カロンによって華麗なゴシック様式で建てられたこの教会は、1915年の戦闘中にひどく損傷しました。この遺跡は、戦争の悲劇を記念するモニュメントとして保存されています。

The National Necropolis of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette is located on Mont Hernu (173m) and opposite the necropolis, next to the anneau de la Mémoire you have a balcony set up as a lookout point.

A remarkable event occurred on April 9, 1917, when Canadian troops launched their famous assault on Vimy Ridge, a pivotal battle that resulted in the capture of strategically important heights. The cemetery commemorates the sacrifices of these and other soldiers who fought in the region.

デ・ジヴァンシー・アン・ゴエル・カナディアン墓地は、イギリス連邦戦争墓地委員会（CWGC）が管理する軍事墓地です。この墓地は1917年3月にカナダ軍団によって設立され、第一次世界大戦中に亡くなった兵士の墓が含まれています。ジヴァンシー・アン・ゴエルは1917年4月13日にカナダ第2師団によって占領され、戦争の残りの期間、イギリスの支配下にありました。

A remarkable story about the ruins concerns the decision not to rebuild the church after the war. Although the church had been classified as a historical monument in 1908, the Commission for Historical Monuments decided that the ruins should remain as a testimony to the German destruction. Ironically, it was the French guns that had destroyed the church, but the ruins became a symbol of the war and the reconstruction.
