The wreckage of the Mosquito PF395 which crashed in 1944 killing both crew members. There is no path to this and the crash site was very wet underfoot.

The railway was built to bring in clay for the dam wall of the nearby Chew Reservoir, completed in 1912.

There is a nice 3.2 miles (5.3 km) around Wayoh Reservoir dam. The views from here north, up along the entire length of the reservoir, are particularly nice, and the water is amazingly clear.

Enjoy this 4.0-km circular trail near Bolton, Greater Manchester. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 49 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-lead in some areas. Cycling around this area the path can be quite busy and muddy in winter.

I would recommend visiting this trig after a period of dry weather like we did. It is known to get very boggy after a period of rain. Great views at the top and enjoyable walk.

Easy paths but very muddy in wet weather

Chew Road leads into the Chew Valley toward Dove Stone Reservoir and provides the most breathtaking scenery for all those who wander down it. Enjoy vistas of rolling hills covered in mixed deciduous woodland and views as far as the Yorkshire Dales.

Good place for a break!

Beautiful clough, especially when the heather is in bloom. Beware, the rocks can be slippery and there are some awkward steps.
