Superb banks of the Yonne

The Saint-Sulpice church is a Catholic church, of neo-Gothic architecture, located in Armeau in the Yonne. It depends on the archdiocese of Sens-Auxerre. It is a relay church of the Sainte-Alpais parish, of the deanery of Sénonais. It is placed under the patronage of Saint Sulpice. The church was built from 1872 to 1875, replacing the old church demolished in 1872 which was located near the cemetery.

The Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne is almost the size of a cathedral, which is surprising in a small town of five thousand inhabitants. Its construction began in the 13th century and was not completed until the 16th with the addition of the façade and the first western bays. This last part was not vaulted until the 17th century.

Villeneuve with its bridge over the Yonne is magnificent.
