Picturesque stone bridge

Arques-la-Bataille Castle is a 12th-century castle that has witnessed many battles and sieges. You can explore the ruins of the fortress and enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the village below. The castle is surrounded by a deep moat that can be explored on a sculpted path. Arques-la-Bataille Castle is a great destination for history and nature lovers.

Unfortunately not accessible due to restoration work, but there is a good walking path around it (as of 07/24). From this you have a great view of the surrounding area.

You walk on the green avenue. 40 km long, this route echoes a long Franco-British history. In 1873, a railway was built to provide access between London and Paris via the Dieppe - Newhaven shipping line. This connection is still relevant, no longer by train, but by bike!

At the entrance to Saint-Aubin-le-Cauf, along the greenway, you can access a picnic area with a shelter and an inflation station.

La Chatellenie, an 18th century castle, was built on the foundations of an 11th century feudal castle. In 1596, Henry IV, wounded at the Battle of Aumale, was treated by Claude Groulard to whom he donated the castle. The estate remained the property of this family for 250 years before changing owners several times. The estate now houses gîtes and guest rooms.

This wooden footbridge connects the hamlet of La Varenne to the town of St-Aubin-le-Cauf by straddling the Fontaines stream.

Here you access the promenade along the ponds of St-Aubin-le-Cauf. It is a very pleasant passage where a few benches allow you to sit and observe the Varenne ponds.
