La Chaux-Ronde is a mountain in the western Bernese Alps which dominates Villars-sur-Ollon. You can easily reach its summit from Bretaye with the Bex-Villars-Bretaye railway, or take advantage of a ski lift to its secondary summit. La Chaux-Ronde rises to 2,028 meters and has a prominence of 223 meters, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

This station is located at an altitude of 1800 meters and is the upper terminus of the Barboleuse - Les Chaux cable car. It is part of the Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets ski area. The resort also has a restaurant. From the resort, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Muverans mountain range and the Rhône valley. You can also access various trails that lead to other picturesque sites, such as Lac des Chavonnes or Col de la Croix. The resort is open from June to October for the summer season.

Summit without summit cross at 2331m. When climbing the southeast ridge (Alpine hiking trail "white-blue-white"), there are ladders, railings, many iron clamps, chains and many wire ropes on the mountain, so well secured if you are free from giddiness and can show sure-footedness.

Station 🚞, parking 🅿️ free in summer, bike wash station, toilets 🚾, drinking fountain 🚰, games (chess, mills, pétanque) and Gryon Parc for children (minigolf, car, train, etc.): the point of ideal starting point for mountain bike tours in the region. 2 minutes from the gondola 🚡.

Ascent from the north face (Col d’Ayerne => Lac Pourri => Alpe Lioson), exploring the ancient hiking trail that has not been maintained for 30 years. The solitude of this valley is wonderful- as far as you are prepared to some pathfinding above Alpe Lioson. Beware of two hyper-efficient shepherd dogs on alpe Lioson: they do their job and made me run faster than I could even think. Worth the adventure!
