The Șurii de Piatră mountain stream plunges spectacularly 58 meters into the Seven Ladders Gorge (Canionul Șapte Scări) over seven steps carved into the Jurassic limestone. Visitors, who are literally within touching distance of the waterfalls, negotiate the stone steps, which are between two and a half and fifteen meters high, using steel ladders connected by metal mesh walkways. The most dramatic ladder is the third: it rises fifteen meters almost vertically and is secured with bars to prevent anyone from falling backward. But that's the only safety feature in the gorge. Right next to the left handrail, the water roars impetuously into the depths. An experience!

The rectory of the Black Church, built from 1383 onward, was completed in 1477. The historic building is closely connected to the Protestant congregation and the Black Church itself. Located in the immediate vicinity of the church, it is an integral part of the ensemble that defines the townscape.

The Beit Israel Synagogue is Brașov's largest Jewish house of worship. An Orthodox congregation has been active here since 2015. Beit Israel (House of Israel) was built between 1899 and 1901 in the Neo-Gothic style with Moorish accents, designed by the Hungarian architect Lipót Baumhorn. Brașov's Jewish community was officially established in 1826. The occupational restrictions imposed on Jews by medieval Saxon statutes remained an obstacle to the community's development for a time, but the number of Jews in Brașov steadily increased, from 769 in 1890 to 6,000 in 1940. The community split in 1877 into an Orthodox (traditionalist) and a Neo-Orthodox rite, each building its own place of worship. Both synagogues exist to this day.

It's a dangerous area if it's not bone dry. Beware of slippery vertical terrain and wide water crossings – it's not for everyone. The Blue Triangle path is perilous.
