A real insider tip in the Ilm Valley: The mill shop with its traditional German bakery offers fresh bread and rolls on Fridays, and seasonal sheet cakes on weekends. Hot and cold drinks and a small selection of food are also available. The flour for baking is produced directly in the watermill – and you'll find many special regional products in the shop.

A superb vantage point with a stamping station, a stone platform, and plenty of seating. The Kötsch and the surrounding forests can be visited at any time of year. At night, it's a great place for stargazing. If the visibility is clear, you can even make out the villages and towns beyond the Ettersberg.

The origins of the church date back to the 13th century. The key to the church can be borrowed from the rectory in Brauhausgasse.

A great hiking trail along the Ilm.

On the outskirts of Weimar, at the beginning of the Weimar countryside, lies a beautiful rest area with covered seating, leading directly to Ilmpark. Taubach is home to the oldest documented mill in Thuringia, dating back to 1120, and its waterwheel has been used to generate electricity since 1991.
