I decided to upload today's very nippy and slippy walk around the reservoir. (Tomorrow we will resume our local hikes as per the norm of late.)
I couldn't ask for a better day. It was so quiet and we nearly had it to ourselves. It was also so bright that it necessitated wearing sunglasses.

This is most certainly Cookie's favourite spot and therefore mine also.
Her delight is so contagious. I sat in a particularly pretty spot off the beaten track and was laughing very heartily as she darted after every fallen acorn.
She was so confused by these curiosities raining down around us.😄

We never seem to have time for a good long hike lately but we still manage an hour a day in the woods.
It's a very much needed respite to have an uninterrupted hour in the company of magnificent trees, filling our lungs with clean air and our ears with bird song and rustling leaves.

A very wet welly walk again.
I forgot to upload this last night. Cookie came back home plastered in mud.
She found a particularly slippy patch as she skidded on it as she ran so she decided it would make a fun game to keep running back and forth over the same patch.🙈

A very quick walk as the heavens opened and showered us with its blessings.

Our customary outing repeated this evening.
I found a much larger and heavier stick for her game of fetch up the bank so it was a bit more challenging than usual 😁

Cookie and I were recently on our way to Stockport so we had an impromptu diversion at Congleton.
This is the first time Cookie has been here. The last couple of times I visited prior to being a proud dog owner was for the purpose of hiring a kayak.
It was a pleasant stroll and I enjoyed my packed lunch
