    Il Röseteich si trova a sud di Walkenried, sul versante nord-occidentale del massiccio di gesso del Röseberg. Si è creato da una dolina dovuta al carsismo del sottosuolo. Già nel Medioevo i monaci del monastero crearono la peschiera che è sopravvissuta fino ai giorni nostri.
