    Il Messlinger Mühle gira le ali al vento da oltre 175 anni. Questo evento speciale difficilmente potrebbe essere celebrato nel 2013 se la cessazione generale dei mulini negli anni '70 avesse colpito anche il mulino Messlinger. Come "disgrazia" per l'ambiente, il mulino è scampato per un pelo alla demolizione nel 1975 dopo che le operazioni di macinazione erano cessate. Il distretto di Minden-Lübbecke ha preso in considerazione la conservazione e il ripristino dei mulini. Anche il mulino Messlinger è stato restaurato e rinnovato da zero. Oggi il Messlinger Mühle risplende di nuovo nel suo antico splendore.
