    Insieme al Marstall (oggi: BW-Bank), l'edificio originariamente barocco della chiesa di Sant'Eberardo a Stoccarda fu spostato da Solitude a Königstraße all'inizio del XIX secolo. L'allora architetto di corte Nicolas v. Thouret li eresse qui in forme classiche.

    La chiesa, distrutta durante la seconda guerra mondiale e ricostruita in una forma modificata da Hugo Schlösser, è stata elevata a chiesa cattedrale della diocesi di Rottenburg-Stoccarda nel 1978.

    La cattedrale di St. Eberhardt è - per essere una cattedrale - abbastanza poco appariscente proprio sulla via dello shopping più lunga d'Europa, la Königsstrasse a Stoccarda.
