    Nel 1629 il principe Johann von Hohenzollern fece costruire la cappella dal capomastro rinascimentale Hans Alberthal di Dillingen.
    Nel 1660 il capomastro barocco Michael Beer di Au, nella foresta di Bregenz, realizzò una riconversione.
    Nel 1682 la cappella e l'altare furono consacrati a San Giuseppe.
    Gli interni barocchi di oggi furono creati sotto il principe Josef Friedrich nel 1739.
    Tra il 1975 e il 1979 si verificò una profonda ristrutturazione.
